Decal-glue

Legend has it that occasionally, mainly when you are assembling old scale models and after getting all decals in place... they fall off, peel off and detach magically from the model after a few days! Panic seizes the modeler-victim, biting the tongue so you don't hear the screams from 50 miles away...

We wish it's really a legend or a sci-fi story, but sadly is quite real. In order to fight that nightmare, Tamiya has released a new and powerfull secret weapon: their new decal glue! A dab of this product underneath the decals, and problem solved. That simple!!!

Decalcas + Ducati + Decimosedici

This week we bring another Decalcas reference right from the oven, and we didn't want to miss the opportunity to highlight the quality of these guys' products... we are just trully amazed!

Once again we are drooling over the new windshield for the Ducati Desmosedici GP3 by Tamiya. Gorgeously shaped and made of perfectly cut vacuum formed parts, you simply put it on your scale model with some glue and the result is spectacular.

Scratch!!

There are some very very brave modelers who do not stop challenge themselves just to see how far they can reach. In our humble opinion, at the top of the pyramid that structure the scale modeler "species", are those who make scratch builds.

It is amazing that someone could face the challenge of recreating a single vehicle in scale with just the documentation and photographs he/she could collect, and creating their own parts or investigating until you find existing ones that may be right for the assembly.

This is the case of our friend Raymond, who a few weeks ago asked us discreetly for some Tameo F1 tires in 1/24 scale, and then confessed that he will be using them for the curious vehicle you see: the Rhodesian Pookie Mine Sweeper, the only military vehicle in history that has ever used F1 wheels. Bravo, Raymond, incredible work! And thanks for sharing with us

A wolf in sheep's clothing

This cute Ferrari, with its characteristic red color and its Borrani wheels, literally tore the asphalt away, overtaking at more than 300 km/h Jaguars, Fords, Porsches, and everything that was in front of it. Withouth breaking a sweat.

It has been a while since Model Factory Hiro reproduced in 1/24 scale all three numbers that ran in 1963 at the Le Mans 24 Hours, fantastic kits that were soon discontinued... buuuuuuuuuuuuut they have been re-edited again! !!!!

Huayra

Imagine you're driving down the highway and, suddenly, you hear in the distance the sound of an accelerating engine. You look in the rearview mirror and see a gorgeous machine approaching from the distant horizon. Once upon a time, there was a scale modeler who, for many many years, painted his scale models with Humbrol, Tamiya and Vallejo colors... He even remembered his father, also scale modeler, telling him stories about the times he painted with Pactra or Molak paints

Until one day, a new brand arrived, called Zero Paints, specializing IN PARTICULAR on manfacturing colors for scale model cars and motorcycles, which made many modelers live reaaaaaaaally really happily ever after. Type 77

Colin Chapman, Geoff Aldridge and Martin Ogilvie designed the Ford Lotus Type 77 for racing the 1976 Formula 1 Championship, incorporating many differences and technical breakthroughs compared to the outdated cars of previous years, but its pilots were not very happy with its performance claiming that it "felt like a rabid dog... "

Even so, the beauty of the car is unquestionable: the sharp nose, the stylized lines of the bodywork, the advanced suspension system, innovative aerodynamics. It's gorgeous!!

It's been a while since Model Factory Hiro put on the market the 1/20 scale kit of the late season version, which was discontinued soon, but it has been now reissued for a few months for all us Lotus lovers to have a new chance to get one.

Halloween is here! Uhhhhhhhhh, trick or treat? We get invaded by pumpkins, witches, spiders webs, black cats, monsters... and Murcielagos!!! Ninja H2R

The latest motorcycle release by Tamiya is now available at SpotModel: the Kawasaki Ninja H2R. McLaren 570S

A 3800cc V8 engine on the inside (that sounds like celestial music...) located in the center of the chassis makes this McLaren 570S a veeeeeeery fun machine while fast and stable. They say about it that it is "the most afordable of its range" (as if that matters in that range

for common mortals... who knows, maybe someday you'll find yourself driving it to the supermarket ;-P

The lads at Revell, just like us, prefer not to wait for that moment: they have decided to reproduce it in 1/24 scale for enjoying it today, at least in some way

, and the first kits will soon be available at SpotModel.

Who knows if they will also send one in 1:1 scale as a gift? XD

Acrysion

This is the ultragalactic name used for renaming the new Mr Hobby acrylic range paints (usually known by many of us as "Gunze"). We've all known the "Aqueous" range for many years, that rendered so great results with both brush and airbrush, but times change and products evolve and that's exactly what happened with Mr Hobby acrylic paints.

The "Acrysion" range achive an even glossier finish, with incredible auto-leveling properties that make brush finishings much more uniform and smoother, their chemical components are more environment friendly, and dry times are between 5 and 15 seconds. Incredible!!

Little by little the "Aqueous" range will be discontinued and only the "Acrysion" range will prevail, which is already available at SpotModel. Times change... really fast! Jump aboard and we will take you to the future

Volando voy!!

This is the title of a well known Spanish song ("I'm Flying There" or something like that

by Camarón de la Isla, and it's also what feel like singing here at SpotModel when we see images like this of the Nissan 240RS, a rally machine that flew fast and low at every track and road around the world.

Flying they have come to SpotModel warehouse the Aoshima kits in 1/24 scale of this Group B beast of the World Rally Championship, just like it won at New Zealand in 1983, and flying they go out the door almost without giving us time to pack them

)))

And while the Nissan 240RS come and go flying, here at SpotModel we have managed to make a little hole to tighten even more the shipping costs for the recipients of mainland Spain, now only 3.95€ for up to 2 kilos!!!! And for the rest? We're still working, but there will be some news in a few weeks... stay tuned!
